Youth Week 2026

The sky was blue, the sun was shining and the heat was increasing, but sadly someone forget to order the wind and the Broxbourne lake was like a mirror for the 3 days of Youth Week 2026, meaning many of the planned sailing activities could not take place.

Nevertheless, our inspirational instructors conceived a variety of activities from various team rigging races, an introduction to rigging, launching and flying spinnakers, capsize practice through to classroom theory. The lunchtime BBQs created a welcome respite from the rigorous morning sessions, where the youngsters ably demonstrated their cooking skills on charcoal.

So, whilst the sailing was lacking and energy, enthusiasm and fun was in abundance and everyone had a really great few days, and did learn a few new skills.
