Volvo Champion Club

From the RYA guidelines: A club will be awarded Volvo Champion Club status:

> if it is continually introducing young people into racing

> if it develops their enthusiasm and talent so that as many as possible gain places in the Junior Zone Squads

> if it encourages and supports their development within the Volvo RYA Youth Sailing Program

This has been clearly demonstrated by the efforts of Russell and all the hard-working parents and friends of our Topper and Junior fleets. But the Club has also had to supply evidence that a suitably supportive infrastructure also exists.

This is what Geoff and the Club Officers have been doing for several months. The Club has been inspected in all areas; changing rooms, slipways, Health and Safety conformity, coaching expertise and provision, safety boats and just about every other aspect upon which commercial enterprises are examined.

The general club membership in addition to the benefits listed below can gain confidence in the knowledge that Broxbourne SC is at the forefront of Sailing Club management. It is very likely that this status will become 'obligatory' in terms of a clubs ability to attract sponsorship, renew leases, qualify for insurance, and overcome all the myriad administrative hurdles that amateur sport has to negotiate.

I bet no one inspected (measured) the flagstaff..?
